LEADERSHIP TEAM
Mr. John McCarthy, Founder and President
The vision for the setting up of Our Lady’s School of Evangelisation gradually unfolded through the involvement of John McCarthy in school youth retreats and healing ministry for the last 13 years in the Archdiocese of Tuam. This led him to foreign countries on familiarisation visits to Schools of Formation and Evangelisation in Canada, U.S.A., U.K. and Nigeria. As President he promotes this initiative with the Bishops of Ireland, conducts youth retreats, and works together with the Leadership Team for the development and implementation of the vision.
Mr. Albert Galea, Dip. Relig. Studies, B.A., M.A. (Theology & Human Studies), Director of the School
Maltese National, living permanently in Ireland and working as a full time Lay Missionary with Our Lady’s School of Evangelisation on a residential basis. During the last 21 years Albert Galea has been actively involved in setting up two schools of evangelisation in Malta and conducted various parish evangelisation and adult formation programmes. He is also an active member of Evangelisation 2000 (Europe).
Ms. Eleanor Healy, RGN, Director of Fundraising and PR
Co-founder, nurse by profession, she worked for 12 years as senior cabin crew and training instructor with Aer Lingus. Eleanor Healy is responsible for organising and directing fundraising activities and campaigns to raise the finance necessary for the ongoing operation of the school. Alongside this main role, she is actively involved in school matters as a member of the Leadership Team.
STAFF MEMBERS
Ms. Julie Corley, H.Dip., B.A., Outreach Coordinator
During the last 18 months Julie, has worked as head of the Citizenship Department, teacher of Religious Education & Art, and as Spiritual Coordinator of a Catholic Secondary School of 1400 students in Hertfordshire, England. Currently she is completing a dissertation for M.A. in the Theology of Evangelisation from the Lateran University, Rome.
Mrs. Colette O’Brien, Administration and Accounts Secretary
Colette, who is an active parishioner in Knock, joined Our Lady’s School of Evangelisation when the school started its operations from St.Michael’s House in April 2006. She is currently undertaking a course in Catechetics with the Maryvale Institute in Birmingham, England.
